Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a money saving technology that uses your broadband internet connection instead of a telephone line to make and receive calls. While the technology may be different from the Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) you use today, your phone works the same way. Pick up the receiver, hear a dial tone, dial a number, start talking.
First of all, you must have a broadband Internet connection. MegaVoIP works over ADSL, cable internet, or any dedicated high speed Internet connection. Satellite connections are generally not acceptable because of delays that result from the distance signals must travel through space. Check your bandwidth to see if MegaVoIP will work with your broadband service. Take our speed test.
When you become a MegaVoIP subscriber you'll receive an Analog Terminal Adaptor (ATA) within five business days. Right our of the box the ATA is ready to work. Connect it to your broadband modem and your telephone. The ATA directs your telephone calls across the Internet to MegaGate's Telco facilities, then MegaGate hooks you up with the rest of the world. That’s it! Your phone is on the net and you are saving money.
